Everyone should READ and WRITE

In our bid to improve the quality of education disadvantaged children get, we are embarking on a Literacy Intervention Programme to build a solid reading foundation for these children by ensuring that those who are unable to read or not able to read well, take part in this programme: The Read & Write Initiative which should commence in the first quarter of 2014.

Mission

Objective

The intent is to impart knowledge and training that will empower participants with a good/reasonable command of english language, ability to use a dictionary with ease, building vocabulary, improved spelling & the skills to identify common errors in English. This will aid the ability to understand examination instructions, independent reading, etc. This will bring about the writing of a four page book (journal) by participants, of a publishable standard, at the end of the course.

Plan is to have the pilot project take off at Onike Community area. Thereafter, to extend same to Regions or Zones.

Hours of Operation

Three days a week: Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays. 3:00 PM-6:00pm. Light after school lunch will be provided.
